Visualization Workshop at EGU 2012!
From April 22nd to 27th 2012, the European Geosciences Union (EGU) 2012 will take place at Austria Center Vienna. This year, SimVis will play an active role during this convention by organizing a visualization workshop together with researchers from DKRZ, GFZ, NCAR and PIK.
Our workshop will take place on April 23rd, 15:30–19:00 in Room 25 and we will give you a first overview on commonly employed 2D and 3D visualization techniques and explain their specific advantages. In the second part, we will demonstrate how interactive visualization can be used to get a better insight into complex multidimensional data and also to create visually appealing presentation material. We will also incorporate data submitted by participants of our workshop to prove the advantages of visualization in earth and climate research.
If you attend EGU 2012, this is a great opportunity to see SimVis and other visualization tools in action and to talk to experts in visualization of climate data. Of course we also attend the entire EGU event, and we are happy to talk to you about all aspects of visualization and show live-demos of our software.
