Tremendous Success at EGU 2012!
We were overwhelmed by the enormous interest in visualization and interactive visual analysis at our visualization workshop at the European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2012. After a short introduction into the basic concepts of visualization and visual analysis we delved deeper into advanced scalar and vector visualization techniques for time-dependant data. During the second part we applied the concepts of visualization to real world data which was submitted by participants prior to the workshop.
Obviously, visualization is a very important topic for geoscientists, since more than 150 people attended our workshop. We hope that we could live up to your expectations and will definitely try to organize a visualization workshop at EGU 2013 again. We already have some improvements in mind to make the next workshop even better. We definitely want to attract new users but we will also discuss more advanced techniques to attract participants of this year's workshop again.
If you have specific ideas for improvements of the workshop, please do not hesitate to contact us! Also, if you could not attend the workshop, but have suggestions for specific topics concerning visualization and visual analysis, please also get in contact with us!
