SimVis 3.0.0 Released!

As a fresh start for the new year, SimVis GmbH releases version 3.0.0 of its award winning visualization and analysis software SimVis. This new release of SimVis boasts numerous new features, improved performance and flexibility and many optimizations regarding the user interface.

SimVis GmbH is pleased to announce that the new version of SimVis has been released. From previous versions to 3.0.0 we made a large technological step forward and implemented a whole new geometry system that can handle more complex datasets consisting of multiple parts and supports completely arbitrary cell types. The entire selection system has received a major overhaul to support multi-part datasets with a minimum impact on the user's workflow.

Our 3D visualization modules have been heavily optimized to support both, multiple parts as well as concave cells, to minimize the impact on calculation speed. Due to the new structure, our 3D renderers have been almost completely rewritten. In addition, our 2D views have been extended to allow visualization as well as interaction with an arbitrary selection of parts in a multi-part dataset.

The most visible improvements, however, concern the user interface. While we tried to introduce as few changes to the workflow as possible, there are those little improvements that make working with SimVis easier and more comfortable. When launching SimVis, a welcome screen that lets you access your recent sessions and datasets and provides useful shortcuts for beginners is available. Creating derived data is now much easier using the new toolbox-based drag'n'drop fomula editor. Some of our property panels have been rearranged to allow for a more consistent workflow.

Last but not least, SimVis' file handling has been improved to provide full compatibility with various Linux distributions as well as with Windows 7.
